Live Well Spring Festival – the Breightmet Live Well Trail

A warm, welcoming day in Breightmet: highlights from the Live Well Trail

On Wednesday 18 March, neighbours in Breightmet came together for a relaxed day exploring local spaces, meeting friendly faces and discovering support close to home, all as part of the Live Well Trail.

Watch highlights from the day in our video below.

What the day offered

The Trail invited residents to drop in at familiar places across the neighbourhood, including Bright Meadows Family Hub, the Red Lane community growing project, local community centres and Breightmet Library and Health Centre.

Each stop offered simple ways to get involved, including:

Everything was designed to make support feel closer, easier and shaped around what really matters to the community.

Part of something bigger

The Trail was one of many local pop‑ups during the Greater Manchester Live Well Spring Festival, which ran from 9 to 23 March 2026.

With more than 200 community‑led events, the Festival showcased how communities across Greater Manchester are building connection and supporting each other every day.

Live Well brings together local groups, public services and community organisations so it’s easier for people to find support, build connections and stay well.

In Bolton, the work is starting in the East, so residents can help influence how Live Well grows here over time.

People involved in the Trail spoke about Live Well as being all about connection – helping people feel part of their community while supporting wellbeing and reducing inequalities.
