This week is Gas Safety Week (14 to 20 September 2026)..
..so here’s a reminder of our four steps to keep your home gas safe:

1. Allow access for your annual gas safety check
These checks are a legal requirement and help ensure your gas appliances, smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide alarms are working safely.

2. Report any gas safety concerns
...about your gas appliances, boilers, flues, or ventilation to us as soon as possible.

3. Never attempt gas repairs yourself
Always use a Gas Safe registered engineer for any gas work.

4. Test your carbon monoxide alarm regularly
...and make sure it remains in place if one has been provided.
Remember, if you suspect there’s a gas leak in your home, you should turn off all gas appliances, evacuate your property, and call the National Grid immediately on 0800 111 999.
