The 28 members of the Greater Manchester Housing Providers (GMHP) partnership wish to express their concerns about the very worrying incidents we are seeing in some communities across the United Kingdom where tensions are rising and some people are being targeted based on their background.
Behaviour motivated by hatred is particularly harmful and can affect the security of our communities. We want to reiterate our organisations’ position on this and stress that we believe in peace, respect, and kindness.
We will all be worried about the news reports of recent events, and we want all our workforce and those who work with us to be supportive of our customers and remain vigilant when out and about, and also supportive of each other.
We must unite against all forms of violence and hate which can have a significant impact on those experiencing it, leaving people feeling vulnerable and isolated.
