- These High-Rise Action days were delivered in partnership with Greater Manchester Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Bolton Council, community litter pickers, Glendale, and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
The events provided opportunities for residents to discuss building safety concerns, access fire safety advice, report repairs and defects and take part in home safety checks of each flat.
We also had colleagues on site to conduct resident surveys, provide information on employment, training, money advice and volunteering opportunities, as well as energy saving advice and other useful safety tips.
Information was also shared about opportunities to join our Building Safety Panel, which enables residents to shape and improve building and fire safety in their High-Rise buildings.
The events took place at Thornbank – covering the Blackshaw, Rogerstead and Fernstead House high rises – on 10 August, as well at Arundel Court on 12 August and Rainford House on 14 August.

“Together with our colleagues in the fire and police service, we can check all fire doors are working correctly, inspect for potential hazards, and offer advice for fire safety in the home.”
