“I love who I work with. I love what i’m doing.”
Working in a front facing customer service role can be tough.
A special blend of skills are needed to do the job day-in-day-out.
Such as being emotionally intelligent, patient, resilient, friendly and being good at adapting to situations at a moment’s notice.
Rosanne who seems to possess all of these traits, is a dab hand at working directly with people. Through her compassionate nature and ability to build trust easily with others, she has managed to work in this area for over 27 years. Which is frankly impressive.
Prior to working at Be One Homes she made use of her degree in Early Childhood studies and her teaching qualification (Cert Ed) to run a childminding business for 13 years.
She has now worked at Be One Homes for over 14 years and during this time she has combined her love of learning with her passion for helping people.
Rosanne's development:
Rosanne obtained a Level 4 Diploma in Information, Advice and Guidance in 2015 and further developed herself by completing an internal ILM coaching and mentoring programme in 2018.
So that she could support customers in the best possible way, Rosanne went on to do a housing apprenticeship and now has a housing qualification, which has given her a good foundation to build on.
“I understand housing law, this gives me a deeper understanding of housing related issues, which I’ve found beneficial with the work that I do.”
Working at Be One Homes:
Having worked as a Project Officer across several of the UCAN (Urban Care and Neighbourhood) centres in Bolton, she has supported hundreds of customers since 2011 and generations of families.
In her role, no two days are ever the same. Rosanne works on a wide variety of areas and issues – her role involves customer service, research, project management and both relationship management and partnership working.
One of the best parts of the role for Rosanne is the community environment and getting to know people.
“It’s like peeling back the layers of an onion, that’s one of the ways I describe it; to figure out what people need, have the right conversations and to find out more about them.”
Rosanne shares why she works here:
“It’s probably one of the best places I’ve worked and definitely the reason I’ve stayed so long. It suits me down to ground and I love who I work with, I love what I’m doing.”
“You know, there’s lots of opportunities to grow and develop. There are opportunities to move sideways as well, if you want. I’m still in the same job as when I started, out of choice, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t developed doing it. I think it’s a great place to work.”
“I like my job. I really like my job. I always have done. I like how it constantly evolves and doesn’t stay the same.”
“It’s a really good job to be honest and the fact that I can support people to improve even one part of their life is like a gift for me.”
Rosanne works in the Community Engagement Team as a Project Officer for the Urban Care and Neighbourhood (UCAN) Centres.
